Grateful and Fortunate

The enormity of this journey is daunting but I feel very honored and fortunate to participate and help build a community that helps support an amazing organization with a great mission.  One that affects generations to come.

This difficult and challenging ride is intended to express my commitment to giving back to worthy causes. I have been very fortunate throughout my life, but I’ve also witnessed suffering by many who’s potential cannot be explored due to circumstances beyond their control. I hope to give back and help create opportunities to help transcend those barriers and support those that are enthusiastic and willing to put in the hard work to make a better life for themselves, and in doing so, make a better life for us all.

TOUR D’AFRIQUE

The Tour d’Afrique expedition crossing Africa from north to south, will cover almost 12,000 km (7,500 mi.) in four months. This will be the 16th edition of the Tour d’Afrique, a test of mind, body, and bicycle. Traveling through 10 countries in all, riders will cycle along the Nile past ancient temples, through the Sudanese desert, and up and down the biblical landscapes of Ethiopia’s rugged Simian Mountains. After crossing the Equator in Kenya, they will pedal past legendary Mount Kilimanjaro, to Lake Malawi, Victoria Falls, and along the edges of the magnificent Kalahari and Namib deserts, en route to the finish of the epic journey in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa.

MY NAME IS MORRIS SCOTT

I was interviewed recently to give viewers an idea of why I am taking on the Tour d’Afrique.

This is a quick introduction and insight into what makes me tick, and a bit of my life philosophy. Please watch and remember that while I am raising money for STEP, I am paying 100% of expenses for this trip out of pocket, and donating every cent you donate to help underprivileged students succeed in life.
