Stage 32

88kms, 20kph climbing unk

Our first real stretch of dirt and rocks combined with headwinds, hot weather and sharp climb at the end had a little in it for everyone.

Many kids had long machetes but were not too ill tempered. Remarkable number of small women with massive loads of corn stalks and sticks carrying them half bent over up hills and in strong winds. When ever I passed them they would often smile.

The people seem to be poorer in this part of the country as we work our way south towards Kenya.

Tomorrow we head into the Omo Valley to observe the Hammer Tribe, Jinka Tribe, And Mursi Tribes. Last year the tour bypassed this area.

Highlights:

  • A kid yelling “Love You!”
  • Getting to ride my bike on dirt road
