What a strange juxtaposition as we sit here in the Luxury of the British Airways lounge to think back on the journey and the simplicity of our travel.

The small bag of nuts from our lunch stops, along the 2000 mile ride were a coveted treasure. The packets of tea and coffee, that I have carried for the last few weeks in case we couldn’t get afternoon tea or coffee seem useless now. I am surrounded by snacks and large complex machines that dispense all kinds coffee and racks of Twining’s tea.

The small Indian organic banana is dwarfed by the genetically engineered giant that are piled on the snack bar.

Smaller but sweeter and somewhat more appreciated. Like the simple life in the countless small villages we passed through. Most without TV and the myriad of images that let us know we need more to be ok.

I know that these small things that I once held so precious will be thrown away as I pass once more into the world of abundance.
