Stage 11 – Abu Simbel Egypt to Wadi Halfa Sudan
70km 2:30 Riding Time
We will miss the great Egyptian roads, big bike lanes and courteous drivers.
The border crossing was routine. The TDA trucks and all the bikes went aboard the ferry. We ran into an executive for Heineken riding a Harley to Cape Town.
Sudanese courtesy was something I had heard about but experiencing it is something else. It will be something to see if a completely Muslim country has any effect on how people behave. There is something different here, the Arabic is spoken more softly and there is no pressure to buy things. It is possible that the difference is that there are no tourist in these parts.
It was another easy riding day and the miles flew by.
