Stage 15 – Sudan Dongola to Dead Camel Camp

143km – 5hrs of riding

It was like all the morning prayers were answered by great tail winds, courteous drivers and good roads. The great Nubian Desert flew by as we reached speeds of 40km hour. Nothing like fresh legs and good winds to boost our spirits.

And if you are wondering there are many dead camels in the area. Apparently the trucks carrying them north to Egypt throw them out if they get sick or die.

Interview by Sudanese TV.

It will be three days with long mileage’s and no showers. We are getting used to setting up in strong winds. The nights are cold and day sun intense now. A few have been sick with a 24 hr flu. So far so good for me. I rode the day with Anton as he had been sick all night and had no strength.

Highlights:

  • Large herds of camels.
  • Kindness of Sudanese.
  • Crossing second largest African country by Bike.
