Rules for the hunt.

Aedo, me, Tom, and Terry fulfilling scavenger hunt for equator party.

Stage 41 – Nanuki to Sagana

105 km 4:08 25.5 kph

Welcome to Kenya where the rule of the road is, the biggest vehicle has the “right of weigh”. That means if a motorcycle is coming at you in your lane, no matter, he’s bigger that a 25lb Bike.

Be prepared to drive on the shoulder which was exciting today at 50-60 kph on a screaming descent. You look up and a car is passing in your lane! But look out the shoulder has nasty speed bumps to prevent passing on shoulder!

The legendary scavenger hunt and cross dress party was the night before. There was incredibly stiff competition from all the teams.

Our team was called “Beethoven’s 5th movement”, we had five riders and our poem was titled “Ode to the night wind”. Depending on interest I may publish it. We tried cheating, bribery and innovation but were still barely edged out of first. A crushing blow!

Highlights: Cross dress party, cool weather, getting into shape ( finally ) nearing 5000 km point. All the people that have pledged, worked hard and donated to the STEP program and my cause ( I am at about the half way point of fundraising).

I am convinced that the single greatest solution to many of the problems I see here is education. Not the only solution, but one that would reduce or help eliminate many issues.
