Early morning on straight Botswana Roads

The clouds at camp
Stage 67 – Kasane to Bush Camp
171km 6:06 hrs 27.5 kph
The roads are straight and clean. Large shoulders and the occasional truck gives plenty of room. Golden grass waves as we pass. There are few people outside the cities. The least populated stretch so far.
Large caribou storks lift off as we pass. Vultures, elegantly glide over. Baboons. This seems some what wild. No elephants until the end and a large bull. Close. Apparently he charged Aedo and Craig just ahead but just gave us a menacing wave with trunk and large tusks and threatened as we passed.
Camp was filled with butterflies someone’s red shoes were covered by small pale blu beauties that apparently liked the salt. Dragonflies flitted about signaling a time of renewal.
Zebras and elephant roamed about camp and hornbills watched from nearby trees as we serviced our bikes.
Massive cumulonimbus clouds built into thunderstorms complete with lightning and finally rain. A fitting end to the day.
Glad you’re feeling better.
Butterfly pictures, please! 🙂
Good to hear you are feeling better Morris! May the wind be at your back all the way to Cape Town 🙂
